Support Letter for my Short-term Missions to Mongolia

Hey Guys and Gals!

So it’s official!  I’m heading to

Mongolia

in early October.  The “Motherland” of my “Motherland”,

Korea

(I have been told that Koreans originated from this region of the world). 

l         Landlocked in-between the

Russian Federation

China

,

Mongolia

has 2.3 million people and one of the lowest population densities in the world. 1.5 inhabitants per 1 sq.km. 85% Mongol, mostly Khalkha Mongol. 7% Turkic (mainly Kazakh), 4.6% Tungusic and 3.4% other groups.  Four million Mongols live outside

Mongolia

. 94% of Mongolians are Tibetan Buddhist Lamas, with elements of Shamanism and 6% Muslim (mainly in the south- west).  Christianity is basically non-existent.

I have never considered being involved in a

Mission

.  In all honesty, when I was presented with this opportunity I had much resistance. 

“Where am I going to find the time to do something like this?”

I realized that this would always be a persistent complaint and that I just had to trust in the Lord and commit myself.  It’s not often that you’re given the opportunity to go to an amazing region of the world such as

Mongolia

and serve the Lord by helping others physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“Who am I to go on a Missions trip?

I was convincing myself that I wasn’t qualified to go.  I’m not a pastor, missionary, spiritual leader etc.  Even though I’m a Born Again Christian, I am so inconsistent with my spiritual walk.  So inconsistent that I’m sure there are others as well that would question my faith and my participation in this short-term mission, let alone my participation in church.  Through this, it really helped me realize my need for salvation through Jesus Christ.  I am “Human”.  I am not perfect.  I am a sinner…but…I am still accepted, loved and blessed through the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for my salvation.  I am thankful for this opportunity to serve the Lord in this capacity for I know that I will be blessed as we serve the people of

Mongolia

.

I will be part of a Medical team which is comprised of a Podiatrist, Internist, Dentist, Pharmacist, Nurse, Accountant and of course me, the Chiropractor.  We will be joining the full time commissioned missionaries there from

Young

Nak

Celebration

Church

and providing Healthcare services across the country. 

I need 10 prayer partners to support myself and my team.  Just like Jesus was supported by his 12 disciples I feel that the prayer support of my friends and family is critical for the success of this mission.  The total cost of the trip is approximately $2,500 per team member. This does not include the cost of all our supplies.  I’m asking you to support our cause financially as well.  If you’ve received this letter, you’re someone I not only respect but feel that am blessed to have in my life.  Thank you for joining me in prayer and your contributions.
